Peniel Pentecostal Church Nairobi began under the leadership of Apostle Obed Wanjala on 3rd October 2001 in Dandora Area 4. The early days were anything but easy—Apostle Obed faithfully pastored only three members for two years. But in 2003, after an open-air crusade, God brought a breakthrough, and disciples began to join the ministry.
At the time, the church was known as Fountain of Joy, until 2021 when God led Apostle Obed to rebrand it to Peniel Pentecostal Church Nairobi—a name that reflects encounter, transformation, and a renewed identity. Since then, the church has experienced tremendous growth in every aspect, both spiritually and structurally. Today, Peniel has expanded into several branch churches across Nairobi County, Mombasa County, Vihiga County, and Makueni County, reaching even more lives with the Gospel.
At its heart, Peniel is a Christ-centered family committed to helping people encounter God, grow in faith, and live out their purpose with joy. We’re not just a place to attend—we’re a home where your story matters, where believers walk together, and where Jesus transforms lives daily.
